Tomcat Blues by Robert K. Lewis

Streetlights playing a yellowish tune,
Shadows stretchin' beneath the moon,
He paces restless, hear him purr,
Gotta let him out when he stirs.

He stares at me with eyes so green,
A midnight hunter a wild machine.

Tomcat blues,
Yeah, tomcat blues,
He’s got the urge, he’s gotta cruise,
Tomcat blues,
No time to lose,
He’s off to chase those feline's too.

He rubs my leg, a purrin' sound,
Then bolts right out without a sound,
A flash of black into the night,
He lives for freedom he lives for fight.

Some folks say he’s a stray,
But he comes back every single day,
With battle scars and stories untold,
A heart of fire a spirit bold.

Tomcat blues, tomcat blues,
Tom's gonna cruise!
